Sap and Honey House
Our newest site feature, the Sap and Honey House, was added in 2013 and was funded entirely by grants & donations and constructed by Nature Center volunteers. It is utilized during late February and early March for maple sirup processing. The Illinois State University Bee Keeping Club also uses the facility to conduct education programs throughout the year, demonstrate various beekeeping activities at our annual pollination celebration, and carry out honey extraction. It also serves as a program space and can be rented for small group events.
